The residency gives the writers an office at Manusfabriken at Gothenburg Studios for six months. The writers develop their own projects and receive feedback from the other writers at Manusfabriken and, at the same time, participate in other projects that Manusfabriken is developing on behalf of production companies.
The two screenwriters selected for residency are both talented, with several earlier successful short film projects and web series.
Annika Ivarsson, born in 1983 and residing in Gothenburg, studied screenwriting at IHTV and has a bachelor's degree in media production. She has worked with screenwriting and direction for many years with past productions including the web series Pensionärer and Sthlm Darling , as well as the short films Pussy hats och vårt dåliga samvete, Min bästa vän, Rope Piece, We never returned, and Världens sämsta hästtjej.
Mikael Bundsen was born in Gothenburg in 1989 and is a Swedish screenwriter and director educated at Akademin Valand Film and Alma Manusutbildning. His short film Mamma vet bäst from 2016 had its Swedish première in Startsladden and international première at Berlinale, has been shown at more than 40 festivals around the world and has won dozens of prizes and was sold to SVT, television in Switzerland and released on VOD & DVD in England, the USA and Japan, among other places. Mikael's latest production, for which he wrote the script and has directed, is the English-language short film Second Family. The film premièring in 2019 was recently sold to BBC and will be broadcast throughout the United Kingdom later this year.
'This is the third time that we have the opportunity to offer residencies and we are extremely pleased to be able to welcome such interesting writers as Annika and Mikael,' says Niclas Ekström, Project Manager at Manusfabriken.
